The Madawaska Valley area is located in the southwest corner of Renfrew County and treasures three communities.

The village of Barry's Bay was settled in the last half of the 19th century by Polish and Irish settlers. The neighbouring hamlet of Wilno was the first Polish settlement in Canada (1859). Combermere, the hamlet 20 km to the south, is the home of Madonna House, headquarters of a world-wide Catholic lay charity organization.

Location of Zurakowski Park & Museum

Zurakowski Park has been constructed on the arrow-shaped property across from the Barry's Bay Railway Station. The park consists of a large scale replica of the Avro Arrow aircraft with a statue of Janusz Zurakowski.
